The first thing you notice when you get to the Philippines is the amount of weird signs around. The first one was the "Beware of earthquakes" sign when got into the lift in my office building. Then there was the sign that showed drivers and bodyguards where they could wait at the Polo Club and then they just went down hill from there. The ironic thing is that there is an obvious absence of road signs so the traffic is in a constant state of chaos which signs wouldn't really help for 2 reasons: All the signs are in English although Philippinos are not native speakers and no one really gets a driving licence anyway. Then there are the names of people at work - I actually work with a lady called "Lala". I feel like I am working with a Telly Tubbie!
