Vigan

Three of us went for a long weekend to one of the historic towns up in the northern provinces. After a 1hr flight north we landed in Laoag and hired a car to go south to Vigan and then east up into the mountains to see Sagada and Banaue (a rice terrace town). Vigan had well preserved town centre with LOTS or tourists and a wedding that we crashed in the local world heritage listed cathedral. Heaps of horse drawn carriages and Spanish villas. We stayed in a lovely old villa (first photo) just steps away from the old centre of town. It was also an opportunity to catch a rid on one of the local tricycles (a motor bike with a covered side car - bottom left corner). This is also where we started a new competition - photobombing! The scores are currently Joanne 16, Shona 5 and Philippino's 0.
