My flight to Coron from Manila was moved ahead 3 hours on Christmas day to get to the island before the typhoon did. After a drive down a bumpy dirt road to a river wharf I then boarded a local boat for my 30 minute trip to roadless resort. I arrived in the resort foyer to find a blackboard telling me the typhoon was on the way and to stay in my room for the night while dinner would come to us before 6pm.
As it turned out there was little wind but a bit of rain over night which left very poor visibility for my planned 4 days of scuba diving.
