Lokobe National Park - The Boa

If you want to be sure to find stacks of lemurs, chameleons and snakes then the best place to go is the national park of Lokobe on the island of Nosy Be. I am going to split this into several different posts and this one is dedicated to the Boa Constrictor. There are a few of them around at varying ages but the one we came across was a juvenile of only a few years old. As you can see they are not so easy to see in the tree you are walking under, but easy to get out of the tree to see how big they are. Because they hang near the water in the jungle you can be sure that looking for them will involve a massive amount of mosquito bites. 63 to be exact, but who's counting.
